Christian Louboutin Tinzita Shoulder Bag - 2012.

Christian Louboutin Tinzita Shoulder Bag - 2012.

Despite my overwhelming love for black, I always seem to bypass black handbags. My theory is that since I wear so much black clothing, when it comes to accessories, I should experiment with color in at least my handbag and shoes.I'm a big fan of a black-on-black look, but if you're pale like I am and wear too much black all at one time, well, people start to stare. The fact that I dye my hair black probably doesn't help my cause.

Sometimes, though, there's a black bag that's just too fabulous for me to resist. This time, it's the Christian Louboutin Tinzita Shoulder Bag that has me in its grasp.I'm sure that there are other colors out there for this particular bag,Mbt shoes, but there's something about the super-soft black leather that's got my attention.

Louboutin has done such a great job loading this bag with texture and visual interest that the neutral color doesn't bother me one bit.In fact, if this bag had been done in bright leather, it might be just a tad too much.As it is, not only are the material's softness and pliability clear through the prominent pleats, but the tassels provide movement without being too sloppy. This bag makes me want to pick it up and examine how it's put together, which is exactly what good design should make a person want to do.Plus, all Louboutin bags are lined in red suede - details like that make me so happy.Buy through Saks for $2595.

Valentino Petale Satchel - 2012

It pains me to write this since I normally adore Valentino bags, particularly those that play on their ever-popular rose theme. But, as far as the Valentino Petale Satchel goes, I just can't get on board.

A lot of their bags are ruffly and fluffy and plush in a way that few other designers are able to execute with any level of skill at all, but this one is just sort of flat. And I mean that both literally and figuratively. In the physical sense, it looks like this bag was shipped in a box stuffed with a few too many of its brothers and sisters. Instead of big and fabulous, the flowered front looks squashed and flat. And it's not just the picture - the bag looks like that in person too, or maybe like someone cut off the big petals at the base, and this is all that's left. As a result,www.discount-mbtshoes.com, the bag doesn't have the personality that most of the similarly themed Valentino bags have, and I'll have to take a pass on this one. Buy through Saks for $2495.

Be&D spreads the love - 2012

We continue to have the pleasure of meeting some of our favorite designers, designers that I have always admired and looked up to.Meeting Be and Steve of Be&D was a total treat. The duo are inherently different yet compliment each other wonderfully. And because just one interview was not enough, we are able to share another fun read with you! Both Be and Steve from Be and D let us in on some of their Valentine's Day traditions, thoughts, and wants.

From Be Inthavong, Co-Founder/Designer Be & D

Valentine's Day, worth the hype or overrated? I think Valentine's day should be viewed like any other holiday.Do we really need a designated day out of the year to remind us to love our parents, to exchange gifts, to be thankful, and to love? I think any designated day to anything wonderful is worth it!

Your favorite part about Valentine's Day as a child:I loved buying Valentine's day cards and passing them out in class. But when I was younger, I had just moved to America and spoke no word of English.I would pass out birthday cards and get well cards to my classmates for Valentine's Day! I was glad the teacher didn't call me out on it,www.christianlouboutinshoes-cheap.com!

Your favorite part about Valentine's Day as an adult:I'm such a hopeless romantic sucker.I love to make plans to go out and celebrate.I love dressing up, having dinner at a nice place, having drinks at a cozy bar, and all the romantic things I could think of.

The most romantic Valentine's Day you have seen, heard about, been a part of:Last Valentine, I came home to my Special Valentine who stayed up all night blowing up tons of balloons and flooded the apartment with them. And then dinner was prepared waiting for us on the rooftop of the apartment.I felt like I was in a chick flick that I was watching! It was amazing!!!

What are your plans for Valentine's Day this year:Honestly, I don't know! It's so hard to plan something romantic when you are with one of the most thoughtful and romantic person on earth! I may need help:)

The best Be&D bag for a Valentine's Day gift, why?:Our glam chic Garbo Shoulder Portfolio Bag!! It can be carried as an oversized clutch or a shoulder bag. It's offered at a great price for our hand-hammered studed piece that says, "Valentine's Day Rocking Roll Sexy".

From Steve Dumain ("D"), Co-Founder/Designer Be & D

Valentine's Day, worth the hype or overrated? Valentine's day to me is like fruit cake at a holiday dinner.Whether I like it or not - someone's gonna be eating it.Sooooo overrated:) but I love to celebrate the history of love whenever I can.

Your favorite part about Valentine's Day as a child:My Mom made chocolates for both valentines day and Easter. She used to make Dolly Parton chocolate lollipops - and the bosoms were chocolate covered cherries.

Your favorite part about Valentine's Day as an adult:Sweet tart little heart candies with nice notes on em'!

The most romantic Valentine's Day you have seen, heard about, been a part of:
Well - since I'm not loony about Valentine's day - I'll give you a little list of what I think are some of the most romantic movies of all times.Breakfast at Tiffany's - you'll know why; Casablanca - ouch, cry your eyes out; Grease - just see those moves - and for my mom, one of her favorite romantic crying movies of all time was a little secret film called Somewhere in Time, from 1980 - staring Christopher Reeves and Jane Seymour.I have to admit - I remember tearing up and hiding it.

What are your plans for Valentine's Day this year:Chocolate, chocolate, and wine.

The best Be&D bag for a Valentine's Day gift, why?:I'm not gonna lie, Pink is NOT my favorite color (though I love the right kind of fuchsia or hot pink) - so I would say our new Black Garbo satchel - with gold studs. It's super soft lambskin and calf, sexy with attitude.

Lady Gaga sends a Birkin me21age to her Japanese fans - 2012

UPDATE:As commenter Allen pointed out, it looks as though Gaga has now had her Japanese fans sign the back of the same Birkin, according the the pictures that she posted on Twitter today.

Regular readers of the blog will know that I'm a huge Lady Gaga fangirl, so I think it's fairly clever. It's not the most interesting thing she's ever done, but playing with fashion and blurring the lines of social acceptability are two things that are integral to her public image, and not only does a Sharpie'd Birkin combine those things effectively,Cheap chanel handbags, but it has managed set tongues wagging all over the internet.

If you're a fan of the Hermes Birkin (or simply not a fan of Lady Gaga), gird your loins for this one.

When her Monster Ball tour landed recently in Tokyo, La Gagita was seen in the airport carrying a white Hermes Birkin inscribed with a message that loosely translates to "I love small monster.Toyko love."

Lady Gaga Implements the Stud Trend on her Hermes BirkinWho's that girl going gaga for Hermes Birkins? Lady Gaga:Hunting Season DuchessChanel makes a bag exclusively for Lady Gaga that the rest of the world envies.

In case you're not familiar with the Gaga vernacular, "little monsters" is the name that she uses to refer to her fans, so her Birkin message was a shout-out to those that would be attending her Japanese shows.Using accessories and the paparazzi to communicate - clever, or not so much?

Balenciaga Giant Lattice City - 2012.

The first version of the Balenciaga Giant Lattice City that I saw was the smaller multicolor version, and let's just say that my feelings were, at best, mixed. The combination of colors seemed kind of muddled, and the abundance of blue trim sorta took away from the effect of the latticed leather. But today, I stumbled across the black and white version,Chanel Handbags, and my opinion changed immediately.Since the bag is bicolor instead of multicolor, the careful precision with which the leather is woven becomes much more apparent. At first it looks scattered, but if examined closely, there's an almost-symmetry to the pattern that indicates just how much care was taken when deciding where the bag would change colors. If it had been completely symmetrical, it wouldn't nearly as interesting to look at, but as it is, I find it almost fascinating.I love the Balenciaga aesthetic in general, and I REALLY love their bags with giant silver hardware, so all of that combined with the intricacy of the black-and-white woven detail really makes me wish I had an extra $2700 laying around. If I did, I'd be all over this.Buy through Barney's for $2695.

Alexander Wang Suede Coco Duffel Bag - 2012

Which is too bad, since I so totally love the bag's original black iteration, and I can think of several other color and hardware options with which I'd be similarly smitten (dark purple leather with silver studs, anyone? ).But I guess if a brand is going to devote itself slavishly to an aesthetic,Cheap Chanel, it's likely that not everything that comes out of that devotion will be good.As it is, I still love Alexander Wang.Buy through ShopBop for $850.

If Alexander Wang is going to insist on continuing to make non-black and non-leather iterations of the super popular Alexander Wang Coco Duffel, then he's going to have to do better than tan.

The material just doesn't look high-end to me, which might be a personal bias, but I suspect that I'm not alone.Wang doesn't necessarily intend to make things that are conventionally pretty, and assuming that he does would be missing the point of his aesthetic, yet I don't think his It Boy status is enough to make this bag work.I know that a lot of people that embrace his line might appreciate peculiar items on an ironic level, but if it takes irony to sell a bag, we've got to question the design itself.

The only things that I can think of when I see this bag are the faux nubuck jackets that you see in the men's department at Wal-Mart every year and that are, presumably, purchased only by middle aged men that count huntin' and workin' on their truck among their main hobbies (note:I'm from the South, so I'm allowed/qualified to make jokes about redneck Wal-Mart shoppers).
